  1. Current project: ink/watercolor of my wife hauling ass on a bike. Definitely the happiest I've been with trees I painted; I'm terrified of how the field behind her will turn out. I totally don't understand painting grass 🤷🙈😬😅

        I'm pretty happy with it. I did lots of wet on wet for the fields of grass, with multiple colors per tier, and that worked out well. In retrospect I should have gone with soft edges on the different tiers, though, instead of these hard lines.

          Also - I should take more care with background colors. I wanted them to be muted when I started, but as I was painting I kept mixing them way more intense than I wanted. Every time, I started painting with them before testing, and they were on the board before I could mute them.

            The focus was intended to be Steph on her bike. The perspective still works to direct that focus, but the background is too intense and distracting.
