        1. I just spent some time building a summer chores board for the family and WOW the automation you can set up in trello now is pretty great.

The board has... A list named "Today." This is the only day they need to focus on. It has every chore they need to do. A list named "Done." When they do things in Today, they move them to Done. Each card is a chore. Chores have checklists. "Acceptance criteria," if you will.

Each card has an assignee. Yes, they're already fighting over who's assigned to which card 🙄 Some chores they do every day - I put a daily label on them. The automation, pt 1: every morning, any card in "Done" with a daily label gets moved back to "Today".

Automation pt 2: Any card moved back to "Today" gets its checklist reset. So at the beginning of every day, they have a fresh list of chores, each with a reset checklist.

Some chores are only done on specific days of the week. I added a "Weekly" list to hold these. Each chore in this list gets an assignee, a checklist, the weekly label, and a label for the specific day(s) of the week it gets done. PS yes cap'n scoops is our robot vacuum.

Automation #3: Each morning, any card in "Weekly" whose day-specific label matches today gets moved to "Today". This of course assumes that weekly cards get moved back to "Weekly" after they're done, so....

Automation #4: Each morning, any card in Done with a weekly label gets moved back to Weekly list. This rule is set to run before the previous, so if I assign back-to-back days for a weekly card, they'll get... 1. moved from Done to Weekly, 2. moved from Weekly to Today.

We have had literally zero success ever getting our kids to reliably do chores so this surely crash and burn and be unused within a week, but hey, at least I got to rekindle my love for Trello.
