        @ReeceGuida @RoamResearch I've had a strange ride with roam. When I found out about it I was **amazed** and fell in love instantly. Then they announced their pricing and I fell out of love instantly and sought out alternatives. Obsidian for a while, then foam...and once I was back in VSCode for foam, ....

      @ReeceGuida @RoamResearch ...I realized that I really don't care for backlinks, even though I thought that's what I *needed* in my life. It turns out all I needed in my life was to be more diligent about tagging notes with useful clues.

    @ReeceGuida @RoamResearch So now I keep my notes in a vscode repo that is set up for foam, but I don't really use any foam features. All I do is ctrl-f to find things, and it seems to be working plenty great for me.

      @ReeceGuida @RoamResearch Thanks much to roam, obsidian, and foam for getting me in the habit of tagging things thoroughly....it turns out that's really all I needed them for.
