    @benmvp @thelindazhang I've worked places where this was accurate, and places where it wasn't. My observation is that it says a lot about the culture. A team that wants each other to succeed will find ways to help people when they reach a "Peter" level. A team that just wants to climb ladders otoh...

      @benmvp @thelindazhang Also, there's an element of providing an atmosphere and incentives to keep people in a role they're happy in, instead of encouraging climbing a ladder because it's they only way to grow/get a raise/etc.
