Over the first 6 miles I settled into a pace that put me in the middle of a large gap between runners, 9th overall in a small field. I was happy. I was running my own race at my own pace, knowing the gaps were so big that this was exactly where I was going to finish.Permalink On twitter.com

It took me a while to realize I was repeating a section I wasn't supposed to. I wasn't certain until I saw a repeated mile marker. I added on an extra 1.5 miles, and probably 14 minutes.Permalink On twitter.com

It was frustrating, but the weather was perfect, the trails were great, I got to take a selfie with a ski-jumping Viking, and they gave me a block of cheddar cheese. It was certainly not a waste of a day.On twitter.com
